Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Rotae ("the Service"), a web application for tracking bicycle component health, maintenance history, and ride statistics. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Rotae allows you to log bicycles and their components, track component wear over time, record rides and maintenance events, and receive health alerts. The Service is provided on an "as-is" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time without prior notice.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may authenticate via Google OAuth or email magic link. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details current.

Rotae offers a free tier and a paid Premium tier. The free tier provides limited access (currently one bike). The Premium tier is billed monthly via Stripe and provides expanded access.

During the initial launch phase, the Service may be offered for free. We reserve the right to introduce or change pricing at any time. Existing users will be given reasonable notice before any change that affects their access.

You may manage your subscription or cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, crawlers, or any other automated means to access, extract, collect, or copy data or content from the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks connected to the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks or excessive request volumes
• Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service, including authentication, rate limiting, or access controls
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than managing your own bicycle maintenance, including reselling data or building competing products based on data obtained from the Service
• Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or any material that could damage or interfere with the operation of the Service
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is the property of Rotae and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Rotae name, logo, or branding.

You retain ownership of the data you submit to the Service (bike information, ride logs, maintenance records). By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a data subject.

Access to the Service is provided exclusively through its user interface. No public API is offered. Automated access, including but not limited to web scraping, crawling, data mining, or programmatic interaction with the Service, is strictly prohibited.

We reserve the right to block any IP address, user agent, or account that we reasonably believe is engaged in automated access, without prior notice. We may employ technical measures including rate limiting, CAPTCHA challenges, and behavioural analysis to enforce this restriction.

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Account deletion permanently removes all your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, including the Acceptable Use provisions. Upon termination for cause, your right to access the Service ceases immediately.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Rotae is a maintenance tracking tool, not a safety system. Component health calculations are estimates based on the data you provide. You must not rely on the Service as a substitute for proper mechanical inspection. We are not responsible for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from decisions made based on information provided by the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rotae and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, whether based on contract, tort, strict liability, or otherwise.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
